HANDS UP!


“Hands Up!” exists to speak directly to those most at risk and get them to put their own “hands up”. The great thing about this campaign is that “hands up” has a double message. Firstly, targeting those who have not got vaccinated, getting them to put their “hands up” and surrender themselves to the closest clinic before it’s too late. Secondly, it gets individuals who took the initiative to get themselves vaccinated to put their hands up too! Creating dialogue between those who have,and haven’t gotten the vaccine. Forging closer communities and educating people about the vaccination.

Facts of Pneumococcal Disease
Our youth:
The World Health Organisation estimates that in the year 2000,  about 14.5 million episodes of serious Pneumococcal Disease occurred, resulting in about 826,000 deaths in children aged between 1 and 59 months of age.

Our Golden Generation:
In its worst forms, approximately 25% of adults with Pneumococcal Disease die every year. Placing those over the age of 60 at risk of contracting the illness.
