GOLDEN WORD OF WISDOM
“Golden Words of Wisdom” 《三字金》 is inspired by the “Three Character Classic 《三字经》, which has been used for centuries to teach children Confucian values. The angpaus employ the same three-word format on the front cover. Every headline ends with the word “金 jin” (Gold), which sounds similar to the word “经 jin”, thus creating a wordplay on prosperity.
It’s comprises 8 angpau designs inspired by Chinese New Year conventions and pet peeves. Common traditional greetings are given a cheeky spin to relate to modern times. This allows the givers to send monetary encouragements in a new and exciting way. The project was initiated by local design collective Bunga Raya Kreatif.
